First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.




Just how important is the 1st amendment? Without it this country may as well be just a dictatorship. If you want to say something bad about any politicion or even the president, and they dont like it, you could be put in jail or worse. However, because of the 1st, you can bad mouth them all you like in a book, a newspaper, or in your stand up comic act.

You see those protesters on the corner of the busy streets? Without the 1st amendment they would be arrested in a second. If anyone wants to peacfully protest a law, a person, or a decision made anywhere, they can.

Also there are many many different religions in this country and you can pick any you like or which ever you grew up on, instead of the country deciding what religion everyone is. The 1st protects your freedom of religion. So you can worship however you like in whatever way you like.

The 1st amendment is very important, I hope you now see. Also keep in mind that it dosnt protect everything. And although it says you have freedom of speech, that speech is somewhat limited to the protection of well being to others.

Movie Comics//Books!

If you can go to the movie theatre and not see a movie that before wasnt a comic book then your in the north pole.
Its not just even comic books its any books.
Where is the originality any more? What happened to people writing there own movies and making them?
Its all business now. Books or comics turned into movie sells them selves. Its like free advertisment. Its already been around for a while. So all the producers have to do is just get the audience to remember it.
And i guess taking something that is all ready a good story and adding slugs to it is way easy then writing from scratch. I just hope that it dosnt become the only way to do it.
And dont even get me started on Remakes!

Busy :/

Im not sure if doing two larger movie projects (one for this class and one for publications) and all the smaller projects in media productions is way over my head or not. All i know is that doing what I love and I want to do is all that matters and I am sure that Im going to be fine.
Cept first I need to finish the script. haha.

This class is great becuase not only am i learning new things about media and filming, I can take that and use it in projects in other classes. On tuesday i did a presentation on the basics of film in speech class, using the same laungage learned in class!
